I'm on the mailing list for the ArcLight Cinema, even though I rarely get into Hollywood any more to see a movie.
It's a wonderful theater for cinephiles -- but as I don't get to go to too many films without my 8-year-old, we tend to see more event movies at the El Capitan than we do the ArcLight, which is not exactly kid-friendly: instead of hot dogs, the snack bar serves gourmet sausages -- and Toblerone is offered in place of Raisinets. They do, however, have an elegant cafe and cocktail lounge, as well as a really cool gift shop.
So I usually read their weekly emails and dream of the luxury of drinking martinis while I watch a Friday night movie with my husband... perhaps in another lifetime...
But yesterday's email contained the following information:
ArcLight members can purchase tickets - in advance of the general public - to a couple of great entertainment options. Whether you're looking for a fun time with the whole family and go to see Shrek 2, or a unique evening out with a friend at one of our "21+ Screnings" of Van Helsing, we invite you to take advantage of this membership benefit.
Tickets are on sale to ArcLight members only on Wednesday and Thursday, April 28 and 29, and tickets go on sale to the public this Friday, April 30. Be sure to remember to log-in as a member in order to purchase tickets early (and to get your points!).
The loveable ogre and his buddies are back for more fun and adventure in SHREK 2...
See it at ArcLight with the ease of reserved seats and 4 hours of free parking, the beauty of unparalleled presentation...AND because the Dome will be ogre green, there will be special kids' packs with souvenir glasses at the snack stand, a special Shrek 2 kids' menu at the ArcLight cafe, and an exclusive exhibit of original animation artwork from the production of Shrek 2. Click here to purchase tickets now.
So of course, I forwarded the email to my friend Cindy, who is usually up for these things, and we decided our families would enjoy going on opening night. This is kind of cool, as May 21 is the day after my birthday. So now that we have purchased our tickets, I'm thinking of making a reservation in that cafe (they only take them for parties of 6 or more, and that's what we'll be.) I'm looking forward to this.
