Some of the people who come here know that I have a small online business (Family-Content.com), providing family oriented content for websites and ezines.
This includes reviews of family films that I write and syndicate myself. This used to be an easy matter, as I used to take Megan to just about every appropriate G and PG rated movie as soon as it hit the theaters.
But since she became so involved in gymnastics (now working out 16 hours a week), the last thing she wants to do on her time off is to see a movie with Mommy (especially if it is targeted to younger children). And frankly, if I'm going to take the time to see a movie on my own, I prefer more adult material myself.
So I've come to the decision that I need to abandon my movie review activities. This means I either have to drop that syndicated channel or find someone else to write the reviews. So I'm putting this out there -- I know a lot of my online blogging friends are writers with young children, and some of you might be interested in writing some reviews.
As I barely eke out a couple of hundred dollars in revenue each month, I can't afford to pay you (there's the rub!). The deal I have with the other syndicated writers is that I get a non-exclusive right to publish their material. They retain the copyright and may submit to as many other publishers/websites as they like. And of course, by being part of the syndicate, they get some additional exposure for their own websites.
I also need someone to take over the column on breastfeeding. Several years ago, I was offered reprint rights to several question and answer columns written by a lactation consultant - but this agreement has now been terminated. This is one of our more popular syndicated offerings, and I would hate to discontinue it for lack of material.
If either of these sounds at all appealing to you, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org .
