Unfortunately, I was in the throes of jet lag last week, and not feeling very inspired -- which is a drag, because the quality of the material they've posted from other guests is terrific. (I did find myself wondering how I found myself in the company of the other women who have been featured over there and decided not to sweat it.)
I ended up making three false starts, which for various reasons, I decided not to give them -- but I think the first one is appropriate here.
Easy enough when I’m in the creative groove.
Not exactly a picnic when I’m tired, jet lagged and depressed. And interrupted every five minutes by a child who is trying to get me to do her homework for her.
I decide to read through previous posts by other guest bloggers for inspiration.
Why did they choose me for this week’s feature, anyway?
I’m not in the same league as Mary Tsao, Mamacita and BlogHer founder Lisa Stone. And oh my God – Sweetney! Her reasoned analysis of what’s wrong with the world we live in was so insightful. And depressing. She’s the coolest of cool.
I’m not worthy.
Funny. While Mommybloggers has introduced me to a few of these wonderful writers, I already know some of the others. My goodness, Phil of The Blue Sloth is here! I love him. And amazing Grace Davis! How do I know them? I visit their blogs and they visit mine and they even leave comments and everything. Maybe I am worthy.
And there's the beautiful Mindy Roberts of The Mommy Blog. Wait a minute. She had the same idea as me. She listed all the people who came before her and commented on them. And as usual, she did it so much better than I'm doing here.
Damn. I really am a talentless hack. Back to the drawing board.
