Let's Get the Party Started

Woke up three minutes before my wake-up call. Showered, dressed and went down to the lobby coffee bar to get myself a latte to sip while typing in this post.

Alas - the hotel coffee bar is CLOSED on Saturdays. (What?? No morning latte?? But this is Northern California!!) Apparently, weekends are DEAD in Silicon Valley. (Which explains the $109 room rate at this place - and is most likely how the BlogHer organizers got meeting space while keeping the registration costs down here).

I could get a cup of coffee in the restaurant. I could have made myself a cup of Starbucks coffee in my room. There will be (probably horrible but free) coffee at BlogHer registration. But I want my LATTE. (I noticed a coffee bar in the TechMart. Hopefully, it won't also be closed when there's an event going on there. I don't think there's a Starbuck's or Peet's within walking distance, either.)

Anyway - the good news is that I was able to log on this morning without difficulty, because once I set up a wi-fi network on this computer the first time, the problem disappears. So it is more imperative than ever that I make good use of the 90 minutes before BlogHer's official start and set it up in those meeting rooms.
