I'm on email lists from several of the local shopping malls.
I don't know why, because I never have any money to spend -- especially now, while the economy sucks and we are all so worried about the future.
But every once in a while, I learn something from these communications that makes it on to the blog.
Like a couple of years ago, when I heard that the Beverly Center isn't satisfied with putting up a Santa holiday display for the kiddies. They like to provide some Christmas entertainment for the grown-ups too.
So you can imagine my joy this morning when I received word from the Bev Center that Hunky Santa is BACK. I guess they're not gonna let this little ol' recession get them down:
Dear Donna
Beverly Center hopes you will join us in having a very happy holiday this year.
On Friday, November 28th at 2 p.m., we welcome back Hunky Santa and the Candy Cane Girls as they make their debut at Grand Valet.
Beverly Center's version of this non-traditional Santa and his helpers will be holding court at The Snow Globes in Grand Court during Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings and will be available for photos. Click here for Hunky Santa's schedule.
Always looking for a different spin on things, this year's Candy Cane Girls will include aerialist performers, dancers on stilts and a DJ.
And stay tuned for more exciting Hunky Santa and Candy Cane Girls news!
Last year, I vowed that I would head over the hill and see this extravaganza in person -- but I was never able to make it happen.
This year, I MUST do it. (I'm just bummed that I won't be able to make it next Friday for the grand opening.)
Ah, Christmas in Los Angeles. We may not have cold weather and snow, but we have other ways to show our holiday spirit.
Ah, Christmas in West Hollywood. A non-traditional Santa for a non-traditional neighborhood :-).

Wow, you guys in So Cal sure do have it good with the Hunky Santa! We will most likely be stuck with the anorexic PC looking Santa here in Portland, who has dieted and looks nothing good ole Saint Nick! Send an update on if the Hunky Santa looks as good in person as he does in the ad!
