The summer of 2010 was unusually cool. October is turning out to be unusually wet. I'm pretty sure this means I won't be writing my annual scary post about brush fires -- at least, not this month. But as fire season now seems to be a year-round thing, all this moisture may just be creating more brush to burn in December.
At any rate, the rain makes me want to just curl up on the couch and watch old movies all day. I haven't quite given in to that urge, but I've managed to find other ways to be unproductive.
I'm beginning to believe there's really something to the idea that anemia can affect one's energy level. The sleepiness I'm feeling right now could be related to how dark it is out there (and wouldn't you know it? The ugly florescent lighting in the kitchen chose today to fail on me, which is making my house even more eerily dark). And maybe I'm just a naturally lazy person. But I'd like to be able to let myself off the hook and blame my body chemistry.
At any rate, I'm making much more of an effort to remember to take my stupid iron pills, because I like myself better when I feel like moving around.
My latest post is live at CBS Local: Where to Buy the Clothes You See on TV.
I know iron supplements made me gak when I was pregnant and immediately after. Do you have that problem?
If so, you might try other high-iron sources of foods: http://www.healthcastle.com/iron.shtml. I also take, and give my son sips of this stuff: http://wholesalesupplementstore.com/flora-floradix.html
The Floradix stuff is good but pricey.
Not sponsored by any of these folks, just saying what I use! HTH! Sucks to not have any energy.
