My daughter is working with an organization at the East Valley Animal Shelter.
Before her volunteer orientation on Saturday, I warned her not to fall in love with any of the animals.
As if.
This kitty (who appears to be about two years old) was a stray, and very sweet. Megan begged me to put the photo up here on the blog... and how could I refuse?
The East Valley Shelter has dozens of beautiful cats and dogs who need homes (and right now, there are kittens and puppies available). If you are in the market for a pet, do consider adopting. It costs a fraction of what you'd pay for a kitten or puppy from a breeder. We adopted our dog Mac from another city shelter last year, and I could not imagine that having a pedigree would make him a better pet.
He's so cute! Looks like a younger, thinner version of one of my cats.

For anyone interested - I did try to find this one on the shelter's website, but the tabbies shown there didn't quite match up with what Megan told me about this one (next time she asks me to post something like this I'll make her give me the animal's number). They have about 50 sweet looking kitties up for adoption right now.
