Remember how I started 2012 by breaking my thumb? And began the summer with a broken big toe on my driving foot?
Last night, as I fumbled around in the dark, I stumbled right into the hallway pet gate we use to keep the dog away from the cats. And I'm pretty sure I bruised a rib, because it hurts -- especially when I try to reach up or bend down.
I'm also pretty sure it's not more serious than that, because I did the usual WebMD search, which gave me the worst-case scenario (broken rib, punctured lung, etc). The pain is nowhere near as bad as what I felt when I slammed my car door on my thumb, and is quite bearable -- as long as I don't bend down or reach up.
And my breathing is just fine -- although it did hurt a few minutes ago when I tried to yell at the dog.
"Hey, I'll drive to school if you can't," my daughter offered helpfully. She got a lot of practice chauffering me around over the summer when the broken toe kept me off the road. But this isn't affecting my driving.
What I am going to need help with is cleaning the house. Any bets on how helpful she's going to be with that?
